Pro-Bono and Community Service
I make a living from tragedies. I respect this reality and think about it every day. I also want to be present and contributing to vulnerable populations in my community when there is no financial incentive. I take on legal pro bono legal projects on a case-by-case basis. If you think you have a legal issue of notable social or community concern, contact me for a consultation.
Some of my community projects have included:
WSAJ Habitat for Humanity Community Build
Obtaining domestic violence protection orders for women, children, and animals threatened by an abuser in the home;
Obtaining insurance benefits and payments for no fee, where a negligent party is gravely underinsured;
Fostering and rehabilitating homeless pets for local animal. rescue organizations;
Taking animal law cases on a reduced fee, to improve welfare concerns for our animal companions;
Serving on the board of the Prison Pet Partnership, which connects female inmates with dogs, and provides professional skills training within the pet care industry;
Serving on the board and as an officer of the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County;
Consulting with local non-profits regarding liability and other legal issues;
